The only thing i would be concerned about is price. Last i read the G7 was also getting MiniLED FALD. My sisters husband have the BX 55" and I saw an episode of the new Captain America series on his TV via Disney+ and the HDR Dolby Vision looks so, so good!!! Because yes, nothing yet, have ever gotten close to OLED HDR. I do plan to buy LG's CX 65" since the price gets lower and lower, and when I have it, I'll probably also just use that for HDR gaming. Can't get enough of them, hahaĪnd yeah, if I had one of LG's OLEDs, I wouldn't care about HDR on my PC monitor either. I'd gladly take a monitor that can do it all, but even ultra high end stuff like the Asus PG32UQX for $3000 has it's own major flaws.Ī flat version of the 32" G7 would tick all the boxes. So i'm mainly looking for a great high refresh rate monitor for SDR. There is just no monitor that can even compare to this HDR experience. HDR is not that important to me in a monitor. I had a 21:9 screen in the past and explicitly moved back to 16:9 after having experienced ultrawide for about 2 years. Super-ultra-wide is not something i'd want myself. Yeah i'm not really interested in the G9 tbh. So I'm hoping the new miniLED version have great HDR, because when HDR works, it's amazing. Overall SDR is actually better but HDR does have its moments on this screen. But in light scenes, the HDR10 looks really good. Very dark scenes tends to look very bad, because of the shitty backlight. I have Samsungs first proper 49" 32:9 and it's freaking fantastic (for its time), well, mostly. I'm really interested in their new 49" 5120x1440p with miniLED. So i'm genuienly interested in getting the new G7, as it seems to resolve most of the issues i had with the old one.ĭoes anyone of your know more about these monitors? Also the G-Sync flickering was quite bad but seems to be resolved in the latest firmware. The current curved one had some extremely impressive specs and performance numbers, but the ridiculous curve brought some issues up that made it unuseable for me as a daily monitor. They also failed to include any release dates for the new versions of their monitors. If the miniLED backlight will make it's way down to the G7 is sadly unclear. Furthermore the G9 will have a miniLED backlight compared to it's awful edge-lit local dimming it has now. 1000R is just pointless on a 16:9 monitor like the G7. When my interpretation is right, the 1000R curve will only be on the G9 in the future, which is a great choice imo. There was some really interesting stuff in there. ![]() So i've recently saw the announcement from Samsung about all their upcoming products.
